Big Fruits

Apple Packet

"Apple Packet" represents my early childhood. The Quaker's apple and cinnamon oatmeal packets for breakfast has been a staple in my household. It was the first meal I ever learned how to make myself, and now the artificial green apple flavor is my favorite type of candy. I wanted the pattern to center around the oatmeal packet, and I used the apple blossoms to represent little me.

Plum Tree

"Plum Tree" represents my adolescence years, specifically the 2nd to 4th grade, as that was when I ate plums the most. My nanny, Ms. Flo, had a big plum tree in her front yard. Almost everyday after school, she used to take me and my siblings on a walk around the neighborhood. As we walked, we would pass by even more plum tress. Every three plum tress or so, she would pick one for the each of us. I wanted to use plum tree branches in pattern to represent them.

Banana Pudding

"Banana Pudding" represents my teenage years, but also just everything! Banana pudding is another staple dish within my family. My Great Aunt Connie used to make it every Thanksgiving. It was something I always looked forward to. For the pattern, I wanted to use bananas to frame the dollop of banana pudding, as if it's some kind of divine figure. It's just that good.

Strawberry Shortcake

"Strawberry Shortcake" represents me, now, as a 22 year old. Strawberries are my favorite fruit, always has been, as always will be. Strawberries represent my sweetness, generosity, and playful nature, when I'm not being introverted. Outside of those things, strawberries and the strawberry shortcakes are little delights that everyone can enjoy, which is why in this pattern, the strawberry is the main focus instead of the strawberry dish.
